Cleaning Ambassador

Hours: Full- or Part-Time
Location: Baltimore, MD
Salary: $16 per hour to start

Midtown Baltimore works to create clean, safe, vibrant, and welcoming public spaces for the residents, businesses, and visitors of central Baltimore. Serving the Mount Vernon, Bolton Hill, Charles North, and Madison Park neighborhoods, Midtown delivers services that strengthen quality of life and foster community pride across 144 blocks and 4,000 properties.

We are always on the lookout for new Cleaning Ambassadors who take pride in hands-on work that visibly improves the streets, sidewalks, and public spaces. Ambassadors help maintain the appearance and livability of the district by performing routine cleaning, basic landscape maintenance, and seasonal services, while serving as a positive, professional presence in the community.


What You'll Do:

  • Remove trash, litter, and debris from sidewalks, streets, and public walkways

  • Empty large outdoor trash receptacles (lifting up to 50 pounds as needed)

  • Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.

  • Remove weeds from sidewalks, curb lines, tree pits, planting beds, and other landscaped areas

  • Remove graffiti, stickers, and minor vandalism from public fixtures

  • Remove animal and human waste from public rights-of-way and landscaped areas

  • Support general cleaning and maintenance efforts throughout the district

  • Interact with residents, business owners, and visitors in a professional, courteous manner

Requirements:

  • Experience preferred, but not required. We will train.

  • Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug test

  • Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break

  • Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
